Farepak Compensation

Cathy 4

Cathy is calling for legal proceedings against the former Christmas savings firm Farepak to be speeded up after the Government confirmed that around 1,500 people in Kilmarnock and Loudoun are still awaiting compensation.

The figures were revealed after Cathy wrote to Ministers to complain about the delay in compensation payments to Farepak’s victims.

Around 120,000 families in the UK lost on average £400 after the firm collapsed nearly 6 years ago.

Cathy said:

“While it’s right that legal action should be taken against those who caused the collapse of Farepak, the liquidators and Ministers need to do everything they can to speed up this process so that victims of the scandal can get the compensation they deserve.

“Some families lost thousands of pounds when Farepak went under and the tragic news recently that more than 200 victims have died without receiving a penny shows just how important it is that those affected in Kilmarnock and Loudoun get their compensation as quickly as possible.”
